This book is in Dutch!
In the almost sixty years that she worked as an illustrator, Fiep Westendorp created her own Fiep world. Whether she illustrated for the women's page of Het Parool, the books of Annie M.G. Schmidt, Mies Bouhuys or Han G. Hoekstra, made an advertising campaign for rainwear or a mural for a cruise ship, her illustrations are immediately recognizable.
Fiep Westendorp herself said that she became lost in her own world of imagination when she drew but that her illustrations also seized to grab on to the feelings of other viewers of all ages. Many of her illustrations now belong to our collective memory, think of Pluk van de Petteflet, Pim & Pom and Jip & Janneke. In this book, the highlights of her entire work are displayed in their original form. Here, Fieps' way of working and her characteristic style is more visible than in her other well-known books. The drawings invite you to view and admire them with fresh eyes.
